Vehicle connector combo for 2017?
a plug for a mode 3 AC
and mode 4 DC vehicle charge ?
Currently, three connectors are used on the vehicle:
- Type 1 charge for AC 230V single phase : 2011-2012 Renault, PSA and C0 Ion, Nissan leaf ... for a 16A charge (3.6 kVA).
- Type 2 for AC charge, 230V single-phase or 400V / 63A. The possibility of rising up to 43kVA load is provided by the Renault ZOE
- DC Chademo 400V/125A can provide only a fast charge of 50 kVA. It is necessarily associated with another connector for AC loads: type 1 in the case of Nissan and PSA leaf Ion / CO.
Presented during EVS 26 congress, the combo plug aims to become the standard vehicle side connector. It will combine a type 2 connector (three-phase AC) and DC.
