The concept of roaming is massively used in the world of the mobile telephony : during the establishment of a phone call the mobile connects to the the closest antenna relay, as this one is not necesseraly the property of its own telephone operator. The information transits nevertheless by the antenna and his owner perceives a remuneration for this use.
The drivers can localize and use the existing charging terminals, whatever is the owner : local authority, owner of parking lot, operator of mobility etc.
IT applications on GPS or "smartphone" will allow to localize all the available charging terminals and and enable a reservation.
The drivers can reload their vehicle quite freely : not only in the usual perimeter and with their contractual operator, but also during the travels and with terminals that are exploited by other operators, in France and abroad.
This roaming charge is a mandatory element of the spread of electric vehicles.
The GIREVE project is the first initiative to set up the roaming charge, with the necessary coordination of the main actors: car manufacturers (Renault, PSA), distributor of electricity ( ERDF) as well as the Caisse des Dépots (Public investment fund).
